Gurugram, April 29
The body of a 26-year-old woman, who had been missing since April 19, was recovered from an old well in the forests of Nuh on Tuesday, police said. The woman’s family has alleged foul play in the case.
The deceased, identified as Haseena, was a resident of Devla Nagli village. According to police, her body was found tied to a stone inside the well, raising suspicion of murder.
Interestingly, the chassis of two motorcycles were also recovered from the same well. The incident came to light when a passerby spotted the body and alerted authorities. A police team reached the spot and, with the help of villagers, retrieved the body after nearly three hours.
Family members of the deceased have accused her husband, Rafiq, claiming he had forced her into a court marriage around five years ago. They also pointed out that he himself had lodged a missing complaint on April 19.
“A case was registered on April 24, and now her body has been found tied to a stone in a well. This suggests a planned conspiracy,” the family alleged.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and said the investigation is being carried out from all possible angles.
Sadar Police Station SHO Praveen Kumar said the case is under active investigation. WITH AGENCIES INPUT
