In a significant move toward fostering a safer and more informed educational environment, Kendriya Vidyalaya 3BRD organised an intensive legal awareness session focused on the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace) Act.

The session featured Advocate Parul Mehta, Founder of Nyaay Gyan, along with Advocate Krishan Mehta as the keynote speakers for the event.

Recognising the critical role educators play as the first line of defence for student safety, Advocate Parul Mehta and Advocate Krishan Mehta delivered an insightful presentation that translated complex legal jargon into actionable knowledge.

The session was notably engaging and interactive, moving beyond theoretical definitions to focus on real-world case studies, using practical examples to illustrate the nuances of the laws; mandatory reporting, clarifying the legal obligations of educators under the POCSO Act; and workplace ethics, detailing the frameworks of the POSH Act to ensure a respectful professional environment.

The event saw full attendance from the school’s faculty and staff members, underscoring the institution’s commitment to compliance and safety. Dr Harjinder Kaur Saggu, Principal of KV 3BRD, presided over the session and actively participated in the discussions.

We deeply appreciate the efforts of Advocate Parul Mehta, Advocate Krishan Mehta, and the Nyaay Gyan team for their role in sensitising our educators on such vital legal frameworks,’ said Dr Saggu during her concluding remarks.
