Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana paid a heartfelt musical tribute to legendary singer Asha Bhosle by sharing a soulful performance on Instagram.
The actor posted a video of himself strumming the guitar while singing ‘Das Mereya Dilbara’, a Punjabi song originally crooned by Asha Bhosle along with Mohammed Rafi. In the caption, he wrote, “This is one of my favourite lesser known Punjabi gems by Asha. Grew up on her voice. And it will live on, always.”
Regarded as one of the most influential playback singers in Indian cinema, Asha Bhosle began her journey with the Marathi film Majha Bal in 1943. She recorded songs in over 20 Indian and international languages, leaving behind an unparalleled musical legacy.
The legendary singer passed away on April 12. She was honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. Her last rites were conducted with full state honours in Mumbai, with several prominent figures from the film industry and politics in attendance, including Aamir Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Tabu, and Devendra Fadnavis.
