Dasuya (Hoshiarpur), May 3
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday took on the opposition directly at a Lok Milni in Ghogra, Dasuya constituency of Hoshiarpur district, declaring that as long as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is in power, women will continue receiving their Sanmaan Raashi and free electricity. He vowed that the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026, which makes beadbi punishable with life imprisonment, has permanently closed the chapter on sacrilege that the Opposition had it any honest intentions, would have shut long ago.
Hitting out at the Akali Dal for drowning Punjab in drugs and at all Opposition parties for manufacturing daily propaganda to defame the state, the Chief Minister said the only difference between his government and those that came before is simple: public money now goes to the public, not into the pockets of leaders.
Addressing the Lok Milni, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “Envious of the unprecedented progress and prosperity of the state, the culprits of the state are unleashing malicious and unnecessary propaganda against me. These forces which are inimical to the development of the state and prosperity of its people are now stooping too low to defame me on frivolous issues. My life is an open book as I have dedicated my entire life for the welfare of Punjab and Punjabis and have been making strenuous efforts for this noble cause.”
He added, “The traditional parties have always treated people as their vote banks and had never bothered about their well being, and they are not able to digest this, due to which a tirade has been launched against me.”
Reiterating his commitment to development, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “These forces are now hell bent upon tarnishing my image with baseless, irrational, illogical and misleading propaganda due to which the people of the state will never forgive them. I have put my sweat and toil for ensuring unsurpassed development of the state and with every passing day we are taking several new pro people initiatives to uplift the standard of living of people.”
The Chief Minister further said, “Unlike the predecessors I have never sought even a single penny from the public exchequer; rather I have ensured that every single rupee of the taxpayers is spent judiciously for public welfare.”
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Being their son and brother I have keenly focused on sharing the agonies and hardships faced by them rather than living a life of opulence like my predecessors. None of the earlier rulers had come to people in such a manner to have thorough conversation about their hardships and resolve them with a missionary zeal.”
