Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hailed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (Bharatiya Janata Party) assembly election victories, saying the ‘lotus is now blooming from Gangotri to Gangasagar,’ symbolising the party’s growing presence across key regions linked by the Ganga.

Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters, Modi described the results in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry as a moment of democratic strength and public trust. He said the outcome reflects faith in performance-driven politics, stability, and the vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat.’

Calling the day historic, Modi expressed gratitude to voters across West Bengal, Assam, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He highlighted that democracy—not fear—had prevailed, especially in West Bengal, where voter turnout reached nearly 93 percent.

Emphasising the spirit of unity, he urged political parties to focus on “badlav” (change) rather than “badla” (revenge), and to prioritise the future over fear. He reiterated that victory and defeat are natural in democracy, but the true success lies in strengthening institutions and processes.

The Prime Minister also noted the significant participation of women voters, calling it one of the most encouraging signs of India’s democratic evolution. He praised the Election Commission of India, officials, and security personnel for conducting smooth and fair elections.

Concluding his speech, Modi said the results mark not just a political victory but a triumph of India’s Constitution, democratic traditions, and collective resolve for progress. With Agencies Input
