The Punjab government’s Department of Home Affairs has ordered a major reshuffle of senior police officers on administrative grounds, with immediate effect.

According to the official order, Dr Sharad Satya Chauhan, IPS has been appointed as Special DGP-cum-Chief Director, Vigilance Bureau, Punjab, Mohali.

Ram Singh will continue as Special DGP, Technical Support Services, Punjab, Chandigarh, and will additionally hold the charge of Special DGP-cum-Commandant General, Punjab Home Guards and Director, Civil Defence, Punjab.

Meanwhile, P.K. Sinha has been posted as OSD/Law & Order, Punjab, Chandigarh till April 30, 2026, and will take over as Special DGP, Law & Order from May 1, 2026, following the superannuation of Arpit Shukla, IPS.

In another key change, Arun Pal Singh has been appointed Managing Director, Punjab Police Housing Corporation, Mohali.

R.K. Jaiswal has been posted as ADGP, NRI, Punjab, Mohali, and will also hold additional charge as ADGP, Jails, Punjab, Chandigarh.

Additionally, Gurmeet Singh Chauhan currently DIG, AGTF, Punjab, Mohali, has been directed to report to the DGP, Punjab, with his posting to be decided later.

The officers have been instructed to join their new postings immediately.
